I first came to know about BS6 in 1998 by pure chance, and boy was I lucky that I did! A friend of mine (who is a huge anime fanatic, even today) had just returned from his vacation in Japan with a massive stack of anime DVDs, and after having watched all of them, asked me if I would be interested to look as well. I’ve never been crazy about anime, and haven’t been obsessed with any particular series since Macross/Robotech of the 80’s, so I picked a few random titles from the pile.

At that time, only the first two BS6 episodes were available (as a bundle), and I wasn’t too impressed after I watched them. In fact, I thought it was rather bland and confusing. Strangely however, I found myself recalling elements of the anime from time to time, especially when I’m reading or watching something about fishes, submarines or global warming.

I decided to give the show another viewing, about 1 year later, and it was then when I got drawn in by the whole atmosphere of the anime – the jazzy music, beautiful graphics, mature storyline and memorable characters. From then on, I was hooked. I started collecting books, CDs and other items related to the show, and my obsession towards BS6 was further extended by the two lovely BS6 videogames that were released around the time the OVA series ended.

Its almost been 10 years since the release of the first BS6 episode, but I still find myself watching the series at least once every few months.

Other than being a huge fan of Blue Submarine No.6 (duh!), I don’t really have much else to say about myself. I’m a pretty shy and private person in real life. Other hobbies include long-distance running, casual writing and videogames.
