Andrei Moldova

  • Age: Unknown
  • Nationality: Russian
  • Occupation: Blue No. 6 Grampus Pilot & Engineer
  • Appearances: PS1

BIOGRAPHY (Unofficial)
A veteran Grampus Pilot and skilled repairman, Andrei Moldova originally served with the Russian navy before joining Blue Fleet. Though physically large and intimidating, he is a soft-spoken and gentle family man. He is married to a Japanese woman, and has one daughter.

My thoughts & opinions
Moldova plays the stereotypical gentle-giant role in the BS6: Antarctica game. Shy, quiet and seemingly non-confrontational, he gets along really well with the rest of the crew. He and Yuri Majakovski seem to know each other from their earlier days in the navy (they are both Russians by the way).

Later in the game it is revealed that Moldova’s daughter is actually deceased, apparently killed during a hybrid attack. I’m not exactly sure of the details, but it seems as though his prolonged exposure to and observations of Huang reminded him too much of his dead daughter, and he momentarily sank into depression during the middle part of the game. He was eventually straightened out by Kino, Zagalo and the others. He pilots the repair Grampus (“Prawn”) with Rin Sagami.

Note: Moldova did not personally encounter nor kill a Mutio during his earlier days with Blue Fleet. Those are fictional elements I made up for my fanfic 🙂

  1. Is there anything in the Antarctic game about Hayamis family?

  2. Hi Capnhands,

No I don’t think the game went into any details about Hayami’s family or past (nothing more than what was discussed in the OVA anyway). Hayami plays a supporting role in the game. Its mostly about Kino (yay!) 😛
